UPHOLDING MINNESOTA'S CONSERVATIVE VALUES

We recognize that now, more than ever, Minnesota needs conservative leadership. Inflation is out of control, crime threatens too many innocent people, and students are falling behind after years of COVID restrictions. Most people believe things are going in the wrong direction. The Minnesota State Senate Republican Caucus has proposed bold solutions to the top three concerns of Minnesotans to get Minnesota on the right track.

HELPING PEOPLE WITH THE COST OF LIVING

With a $9 billion dollar surplus, Senate Republicans proposed an $8 billion dollar tax cut, including a middle-income tax rate cut and eliminating completely the tax on Social Security benefits. Inflation isn’t going away, but a one-time check that barely covers one month’s rent isn’t a real solution. Our proposal for permanent, ongoing tax relief will have a long-term impact on growing our economy and helping people afford their lives.

KEEPING STREETS & COMMUNITIES SAFE

Law enforcement departments are challenged today more than ever. The Defund the Police rhetoric has led to a staffing crisis in too many police departments. Senate Republicans proposed millions to recruit, retain, and train law enforcement officers. More good cops on the streets will keep people safe, but we also proposed tougher penalties for car jacking and feeling police, mandatory minimums and a three strikes law for violent repeat offenders to keep the streets clear of known criminals.

PARTNERING WITH PARENTS, KIDS & SCHOOLS

After historic funding increases in each budget year, Senate Republicans passed a Parents’ Bill of Rights to keep classroom curriculum and activities transparent, and support parentals rights to direct their children’s education. We proposed millions of literacy training for teachers to help kid’s meet reading goals and be successful in the future.
